Kansas City Water Lab
Kansas City, MO

Artin is serving as the engineering consultant for the renovation and expansion of the Kansas City Water Laboratory, working alongside Finkle+Williams Architecture. This project involves the modernization of a 20,500 square-foot facility, with an additional 9,500 square feet of space being added to enhance laboratory and office areas. The renovation will address key infrastructure upgrades, including replacing roof systems, and improving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and IT systems to ensure long-term operational efficiency.

The lab’s layout will be reconfigured to optimize workflow, enhancing both sample testing and intake processes. Employee facilities such as office areas and break rooms will also be upgraded to support staff well-being and productivity. The project is expected to cost approximately $29.96 million and is being managed under the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) method with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company overseeing construction.

With an estimated completion timeline of 23 months, this renovation ensures that the Kansas City Water Laboratory will continue to meet essential water testing requirements and remain adaptable to future technological advancements.
