This $10 million capital improvement project involved the addition of a 14,000 sq. ft. mezzanine level within an active nutraceutical manufacturing warehouse. The new mezzanine was designed to accommodate future tenant improvements for production and packaging functions under separate permits, increasing operational capacity and flexibility for the facility.

The structural scope included the design and integration of a new elevated floor system, enclosing walls, four egress doors and stairwells, and two elevator shafts to support future lift installations. The design was developed in coordination with the building’s existing structure and layout to support functional and regulatory goals for future buildouts.

As the Project Engineer, the team led interdisciplinary coordination and provided comprehensive structural engineering services, including program management, value engineering, and complete construction document preparation. Engineering services extended through the construction administration phase, including shop drawing review, plan interpretation, and technical clarification for all stakeholders.

Additional responsibilities included reviewing Quality Control Plans, monitoring construction activities to ensure adherence to design and safety standards, facilitating sustainable building practices, and providing real-time assessments of construction materials and methods. The team maintained project documentation and proactively addressed scheduling, claims, and field coordination issues to support on-time project delivery.

The project also included engineering services incidental to construction, such as structural studies, evaluations, conceptual and soils engineering, and consultation during installation and commissioning.
