Located in the heart of Palm Desert, The Leaf is a high-end cannabis dispensary that brings a modern, boutique retail experience to the Coachella Valley. This project involved the full interior remodel and structural integration of two existing commercial units, combining them into a single cohesive retail space tailored for dispensary operations.

The renovation required significant modifications to the building’s structural framework. A comprehensive gravity and lateral analysis was conducted to ensure the structural performance and safety of the unified space, accounting for new architectural elements, updated load conditions, and code compliance.

Artin’s Project Scope
Artin Engineering served as the Structural Engineer of Record (SEOR) for this project. Our team delivered the complete structural design package, including the assessment and redesign of the framing systems, lateral-force resisting systems, and load transfer strategies necessary to merge and modernize the existing commercial spaces.

In addition, Artin provided construction administration services, supporting the project team during the build-out by addressing field conditions, responding to RFIs, and verifying that the construction met structural design specifications.
