The Rochester at Blue Parkway
Kansas City, MO

Artin provided structural engineering services for The Rochester on Blue Parkway, a landmark mixed-use development at 3939 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Kansas City, Missouri. Developed by Community Builders of Kansas City (CBKC), this project is the first market-rate multifamily development east of Prospect Avenue in decades, serving as a catalyst for revitalization along the Swope/Blue Parkway corridor.

Named after CBKC founder R. Charles (Chuck) Gatson, The Rochester features 64 one- and two-bedroom apartments, with amenities including a rooftop deck, fitness center, co-working space, patios and balconies, a dog park, and outdoor social areas. The project also includes commercial and community spaces to support local engagement and economic growth.

Working alongside Hufft (architect) and Straub Construction (general contractor), Artin engineered a cost-effective, resilient structural system that supports the building’s modern design and mixed-use functionality. Our scope included:

  • Structural framing and foundation design

  • Lateral system analysis for wind/seismic loads

  • Integration of architectural features and open-space layouts

This project underscores Artin’s commitment to delivering structural solutions that support inclusive urban development. The Rochester is a significant step in transforming Kansas City’s East Side with high-quality housing and community-centered design.
